ArmInfo. The price of gasoline in Armenia has reached an historic high of 600 drams (or approximately $1.65) per liter. Mesrop Arakelyan, co-founder of the Country for Life party, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"At the same time, we spend a significant portion of this expensive fuel not on driving itself, but on sitting in Yerevan’s traffic jams. Thus, hundreds of thousands of drivers pay daily for the authorities’ inaction—with their time, health and money," the politician noted.
It should be noted that at major gas stations such as Flash, Maxoil, CPS and Gulf, the price of AI-95 gasoline and premium brands has reached 580-620 drams per liter. Due to the sharp price increase, the Armenian Competition Protection Commission contacted major businesses and importers to verify the justification for the price increase. The rise in fuel prices is linked to external factors, fluctuations in global prices and logistics, which was also highlighted by Martin Galstyan, Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia.
