
ArmInfo. As part of his working visit to Canada, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan met with several representatives of the Canadian academic and expert community.
According to the MFA press service, the interlocutors discussed regional developments, efforts to strengthen the established peace in the South Caucasus, the unblocking of regional infrastructure, global developments, and the Armenia-Canada bilateral agenda in a Q&A format.
They emphasized the necessity of anchoring the current positive dynamics in bilateral relations with concrete results in the trade and economic sphere.
Note, according to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Canada in January–May 2026 increased by 16.5%, totaling $14.1 million. Exports amounted to $1.4 million, recording a 25.3% year-on-year increase, alongside a 15.6% growth in imports, which reached $12.7 million.
