ArmInfo. A meeting of the Nexus-2 project competition committee was held in Kapan.
According to the press service of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, the initiative, implemented through the UNDP Sustainable Communities program with financial assistance from Russia, aims to support the development of small and medium-sized businesses in agriculture through the creation of a greenhouse cluster.
The selection process consists of four stages: application submission, expert evaluation of projects, project presentation, and selection of winners. The submitted business ideas are evaluated by a competition committee, which traditionally includes diplomats from the Russian Foreign Ministry's Advance Group for the opening of the Consulate General in Kapan. The winners will complete a specialized training course on greenhouse management and receive modern greenhouses ranging from 150 to 300 square meters for growing their own produce.
The Nexus project is an improved model of the Greenhouse project, one of several major initiatives being implemented as part of the UNDP Sustainable Communities program with financial support from Russia. The main goal of this program is to promote the sustainable socioeconomic development of the Syunik region.
