Armenia to develop guidelines for implementing ESG standards in  winemaking

ArmInfo. Armenia will develop guidelines for implementing ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) standards in the winemaking sector. This was  reported to ArmInfo by the press service of the Union of  Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia, citing the results of a  meeting with representatives from several leading domestic winemaking  companies.

The meeting was held as part of a joint program between the UIE and  the Confederation of Danish Industry, during which winemakers were  presented with international standards, their application experience,  and the importance of implementing these principles in production  processes, particularly for entering new markets.

The winemakers described the measures they have implemented in their  companies to ensure compliance with ESG standards, shared the  challenges encountered in adapting and implementing them, emphasized  the importance of providing the necessary information support, and  received answers to their questions. It was noted that the  cooperation within the framework of the SPP program will be ongoing.

It is worth noting that in January-April 2026, wine production in  Armenia increased by 20.6%, reaching 2.2 million liters.
