
ArmInfo. Construction of a medium-capacity crayfish farming complex is underway in Echmiadzin. The annual production volume will be 12 tons.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the complex is being built by H.A.T GOLD GROUP, which benefited from the state program "Development of Industrial Crayfish Farming in the Republic of Armenia for 2024-2029." The company invested 129.9 million drams in the project, and the state compensation amounted to 64.95 million drams.
According to the source, Deputy Minister of Economy Tatevik Sargsyan visited the complex under construction to inspect the progress of the work. She emphasized the importance of such public-private partnership projects aimed at developing the industry.
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the fish farming catch in the first quarter of 2026 amounted to 9,350 tons, exceeding the previous year's figure by 3.9%.
The state program is being implemented from 2024 to 2029 and provides for the reimbursement of 50% of investment costs, but no more than 50% of the cost established for each expenditure item.
The program envisages the creation of three types of crayfish farms: small - with a total area of 460 square meters and a production capacity of 6 tons per year; medium - with an area of 800 square meters and a production capacity of 12 tons per year; and large - with an area of 1,050 square meters and a production capacity of 18 tons per year.
