ArmInfo. The Federal Service for Control of Alcohol and Tobacco Markets (Rosalkogoltabakkontrol) conducted an unscheduled inspection of Proshyan Brandy Factory LLC, which imports brandy products.
As reported on the official Telegram channel of Rosalkogoltabakkontrol, samples of brandy imported by the organization into the Russian Federation were collected.
An examination conducted by an accredited laboratory revealed that the product did not comply with GOST requirements: non-grape spirits were detected, and the product's composition did not match the declared name (it did not correspond to the term "brandy"). According to the source, these violations served as the basis for the Service's decision to file a lawsuit to revoke and suspend the license. This matter is currently pending in the Arbitration Court.
"Rosalkogoltabakontrol draws the attention of market participants to the fact that, in accordance with the Federal Law , the quality of alcoholic beverages imported into the Russian Federation must comply with state standards and technical specifications for the production and circulation of alcoholic beverages. Circulation of wine products in violation of the requirements established by viticulture and winemaking legislation is grounds for license revocation by court order," the Rosalkogoltabakontrol statement reads.
It should be noted that over 80% of brandy produced in Armenia is exported to the Russian market.
According to the consulting company Modex, Armenia exported 37.9 million liters of brandy in 2024, with an annual growth rate of 21.1%. Of this volume, 83% went to the Russian market.
