
ArmInfo.On February 4, RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan received a delegation led by General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Defense Staff of the Indian Armed Forces, who is currently on an official visit to Armenia.
According to the ministry's press service, the meeting was also attended by Aram Jivanyan, Chairman of the Defense Industry Committee of the RA Ministry of Defense, Nilakshi Saha Singh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia, and other officials.
Welcoming the delegation, the Minister highly appreciated the development of Armenian-Indian cooperation in high technology and defense, emphasizing the importance of the existing friendly and reliable partnership, as well as the effective implementation and further expansion of joint initiatives. The parties discussed ongoing defense industry cooperation projects, highlighting their consistent development and expansion. The potential of implementing joint research and development projects was also addressed.
In turn, General Anil Chauhan presented the Indian government's policies and ongoing reforms in the high- tech and defense sectors, as well as existing innovation and startup initiatives, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing cooperation in defense and high-tech sectors.
Summing up the meeting, agreements were reached to develop bilateral cooperation and continue joint work in areas of mutual interest.
