ArmInfo. Armenia features in the authoritative National Geographic article "The World's Best Travel Destinations 2027," according to the press service of the Armenian Tourism Committee.
In particular, the article highlights the attractiveness of Armenia's natural beauty and mountainous landscapes, as well as the Transcaucasian Trail (an international project to create a unified, marked hiking trail network spanning approximately 3,000 km through the Caucasus Mountains), which allows visitors to explore remote corners of the country, historic monasteries, and rural communities. Work to improve trail infrastructure and develop the Armenian National Trail is also mentioned.
Publications about Armenia in reputable international media contribute to increasing the country's recognition as an attractive destination for nature lovers, adventure tourism, and hiking, the Tourism Committee said in a statement. As a reminder, 1.757 million tourists visited Armenia in January-September 2026, a 1.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
Traditionally, the bulk of tourists are Russian citizens (40%), followed by tourists from Georgia (14%), Iran (8%), China, Germany, the United States (2% each), Ukraine (1.38%), France (1.36%), Italy and Belarus (1% each), and others.
