Armenia`s metallurgical industry achieved high double-digit growth in January-August 2026

ArmInfo. Armenia's metallurgical industry significantly increased production volumes in January-August 2026, growing by 43.3% year-on-year (compared to a 7% decline a year ago). According to the RA Statistics Committee, this dynamic was largely driven by the transition from a downward trend in copper concentrate production, the dominant segment, to double-digit growth, as well as improved performance in other metallurgical products, with the exception of ferromolybdenum, which continues to decline.

In particular, over the first eight months of this year, Copper concentrate production volume amounted to 236.1 thousand tons, with the annual dynamics changing from an 8.1% decline to a 27.2% growth.

Molybdenum concentrate production also reversed its annual dynamics, from a 13% decline to a 17.9% growth, amounting to 11.7 thousand. tons.

Zinc concentrate production maintained growth, but with an annual growth rate slowing from 6.7% to 5.1%, reaching 7.8 thousand tons.

A slowdown in annual growth was also observed in aluminum foil production, from 2.7% to 2.1%, reaching 13.8 thousand tons.

The upward annual trend also continued in steel pipe production, with a sharp acceleration from 7.1% to 50.2%, resulting in a volume of 24.7 thousand tons.

Only ferromolybdenum production remained in decline year-on-year, with a double-digit acceleration from 32.6% to 45.5%, with a corresponding decline in volumes to 1,100 tons.

All metals produced in Armenia are exported, primarily to Europe, China, and the United States.
