South Caucasus Railway announces changes to train schedules

Arminfo. The South Caucasus Railway (SCR) reports changes to the train schedule.  In particular, starting September 25, high-speed intercity electric train No. 100/101 Yerevan-Gyumri-Yerevan will depart from Gyumri station at 17:55 instead of the previous 19:40.

In addition, seasonal services on the Yerevan-Shorzha-Yerevan route are coming to an end. According to a statement by SCR, the final services this year operated on September 11-13.

Meanwhile, the international Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan train will continue operating through September 30 inclusive.

It should be recalled that CJSC "SCR" is a 100% subsidiary of JSC "Russian Railways". On February 13, 2008, a concession agreement was signed in Yerevan between JSC "Russian Railways" and the Republic of Armenia on transferring the republic’s railway transport system to the management of CJSC "SCR".

According to the agreement, the concession management term is 30 years, with the right to extend it for another 10 years after the first twenty years of operation, by mutual agreement of the parties.
