ArmInfo. Natural gas imports to Armenia increased by 15.5% year-on-year in the first half of 2026, reaching 1 602 871.1 cu. m, while the customs value rose by 16.2% to $277.8 million.
According to data from the Customs Service of the Republic of Armenia, the entire volume of natural gas came to Armenia from Russia (85.8%) and Iran (14.2%). In particular, 1 374 837 cu. m of natural gas was supplied to Armenia from Russia, representing a year-on-year increase of 21.9%, while its customs value grew by 22.3% to $239.5 million. A total of 228 034.1 cu. m was supplied from Iran, which was 12.2% below the year-earlier figure, while the customs value declined by 11.5% to $38.3 million.
Meanwhile, liquefied gas supplies increased by 8.5% year-on-year during the reporting period, reaching 140 799.3 tonnes, while the customs value rose by 61.5% to $69.9 million.
According to the source, liquefied gas mainly comes from Russia—86.8%, or 122 237.2 tonnes—with the volume declining by 4.9% and the customs value by 41% to $60.3 million.
Liquefied gas supplies from Iran increased severalfold, from 553.6 tonnes to 14 123.6 tonnes (10.2%), while its customs value also rose severalfold to $7.4 million.
Iraqi liquefied gas accounted for 1.7%, or 2448.4 tonnes, which was 10 times higher than the year-earlier figure, while its customs value increased severalfold to $1.2 million.
Much smaller volumes of liquefied gas came to Armenia from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, China, Poland and Germany.
