
ArmInfo. In Armenia, freight traffic in January-July 2026 accelerated to 2.5% (from 0.5% a year earlier), reaching 9,575.2 thousand tons.
According to the RA Statistics Committee, rail freight traffic increased year-on-year by 23.8% to 1,092.3 thousand tons, road freight traffic by 1.9% to 7,164.8 thousand tons, and air freight traffic by 8.7% to 23.7 thousand tons.
1,291.9 thousand tons of natural gas were delivered via the main pipeline, a 17.2% year-on-year decline.
Passenger traffic increased by 11.2% during the reporting period. (versus a 3.3% decrease a year ago), reaching 146,144.5 thousand people. In particular, automobile passenger traffic increased by 10.6% to 125,542.2 thousand people, while air passenger traffic increased by 11.7% to 3,468.2 thousand people. Electric passenger traffic grew by 15.5% year-on-year to 18,873.3 thousand people. Rail passenger traffic decreased by 8.9% to 260.8 thousand people.
As a result, freight turnover increased year-on-year by 12.6% to 2,902.9 million ton-km, and passenger traffic increased by 9.2% to 2,810.7 million passenger-km.
