
ArmInfo. In Armenia, industrial production increased by 9.5% year-on-year in January-July 2026 (versus a 9.8% decline a year ago), reaching approximately 1.8 trillion drams ($3.8 billion). In July alone, the industrial sector increased its output by 5.5% to 270.6 billion drams ($635.3 million). This is according to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
The improved annual dynamics of the industrial sector are due to the resumption of growth in both the mining and manufacturing industries.
In particular, the mining sector grew by 26.5% (versus a 1% decline a year ago), reaching 422.1 billion drams. In July alone, mining sector output declined by 5.6% to 60.8 billion drams.
The manufacturing industry also improved its year-on-year performance, rising from a 16.1% decline to 7.2% growth, reaching 1.1 trillion drams. But in just one month, production volumes increased by 9.8% to 178.4 billion drams.
At the same time, high growth rates were demonstrated by the chemical industry - by 77.6%, furniture - by 62.5%, finished metal products - by 38.5%, base metals - by 33.1%, computers, electronic and optical equipment - by 18%, and pharmaceuticals - by 17.4%.
The most significant declines were in the volumes of coke and other petroleum products - by 41.8%, machinery and equipment - by 54.6%.
In the manufacturing industry, the leading production volumes are traditionally food products (347.4 billion drams), base metals (167.1 billion), cigarettes (158.3 billion), and beverage production (126.9 billion). billion).
According to statistics, supplies of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning in January-July 2026 amounted to 227.2 billion drams (unchanged year-on-year), with a 7.2% increase in July to 28.5 billion drams. Moreover, electricity generation, transmission, and distribution decreased by 3% year-on-year during the reporting period, while gas production and distribution of gaseous fuels through gas supply systems increased by 15.3%.
Revenues from water supply, waste treatment and processing, and secondary raw materials production accelerated year-on-year from 1% to 2.8% during the reporting period, reaching 18.6 billion drams. In July alone, this figure decreased by 1.5% to 2.8 billion drams.
Note that the average exchange rate of the dram against the US dollar in January-July 2026 was 373.26 drams/$1, and in July, it was 366.89 drams/$1.
