ArmInfo. The opening of the international tourism, travel, and hospitality exhibition, TOUR EXPO, took place at the Yerevan railway station.
2026. The exhibition brought together approximately 50 industry companies, covering all regions of Armenia. In addition, industry representatives from Georgia and Cyprus participated in the exhibition.
During the event, visitors were introduced to new tourist destinations and offers, as well as learned about special offers from hotels, resorts, and tour operators. Furthermore, the exhibition will provide an opportunity to directly meet leading companies and specialists in the tourism industry.
In an interview with journalists, Zara Sargsyan, Director of Neo Concept, the organizer of TOUR EXPO 2026, noted that the goal of engaging all regions of Armenia was to showcase the country's full tourism potential. She also stated that this is the first time the event has been held, but the goal is to make it an annual event. The South Caucasus Railway (SCR) served as the general sponsor of the event. During the opening ceremony, SCR CEO Alexey Melnikov expressed confidence that TOUR EXPO 2026 will be a good opportunity for tourism representatives to establish new business connections, exchange experiences, and present their services to the general public. "This is also a good opportunity for visitors to learn more about Armenia's tourism opportunities and choose interesting travel destinations," he said.
The event will be held in the Main Hall of the Yerevan Railway Station (80 Tigran Mets Street) from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and will run until September 6. The official partner of the exhibition is the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the Committee, from January to July 2026, Armenia was visited by
1.240 million tourists, a 7% increase from the previous year. The lion's share of tourists are aged 35-44 (25%), followed by tourists aged 25-34 and 45-54 (19% each), 55-64 (13%), and others.
Traditionally, citizens of the Russian Federation (40%), Georgia (15%), Iran (8%), as well as China, Germany, and the United States (2% each), Ukraine (1.5%), France (1.3%), Italy, and India (1% each), among others, prefer to vacation in Armenia.
