
ArmInfo.On August 25, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg apoyan received Khalil Shirgolami, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia. According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, Deputy Minister Anushik Avetyan also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, issues related to the development of Armenian-Iranian economic cooperation, expanding trade and investment, infrastructure development, and business ties were discussed. Gevork Papoyan noted that the high-level political dialogue between Armenia and Iran should translate into more tangible economic results by expanding the presence of Armenian products in the Iranian market and more effectively leveraging the opportunities provided by the free trade agreement between the EAEU and Iran. During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in energy and logistics, as well as long-term supplies of diesel fuel and liquefied gas, were also discussed.
The minister proposed exploring expanded cooperation in several key areas: expanding trade and Armenian exports, joint production and investment, cooperation in energy and logistics, and the continuous improvement of border procedures.
