
ArmInfo. Armenia saw a significant increase in the export of goods to European Union countries during the first half of 2026, according to a report from the Armenian government.
Specifically, as of the January–June 2026 period, exports to the EU exceeded $516 million. This represents an increase of more than 80% compared to the same period last year, when exports totaled approximately $287 million. Furthermore, compared to the first half of 2017, exports to the EU have grown by more than 71% (from approximately $301 million).
Recall, data from Armenia's Statistical Committee indicates that the country's total foreign and mutual trade turnover for January–June 2026 declined by 0.1% compared to the same period in 2025, totaling approximately $9.57 billion. In June 2026 alone, trade turnover reached $1.65 billion—a 3.3% decrease compared to June 2025, but a 7.3% increase over May 2026.
At the same time, trade performance varied significantly by region: Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU): trade turnover totaled $2.82 billion, a 19% decline; Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS): trade turnover reached $2.97 billion, a 16.6% decrease. This includes trade with Russia ($2.63 billion, down 20.9%), Belarus ($122.3 million, up 18.8%), and Ukraine ($69.1 million, up 38.8%) and European Union (EU): trade turnover amounted to $1.69 billion, a 46.2% increase. Key trading partners within the bloc included Germany ($289.5 million, up 32.5%), Italy ($229.1 million, up 11.6%), and Bulgaria ($223.3 million, an increase of 5.3 times).
