Armenian Economy Minister participates in 7th EAEU Agro-Industrial  Policy Council meeting

ArmInfo.Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan participated in the 7th meeting of the EAEU Council on Agro-Industrial Policy in Almaty on August 13.

According to the Ministry of Economy's press service, Papoyan  presented the current state of Armenia's agro-industrial complex  along with its development priorities. He emphasized the importance  of intensifying agriculture, boosting productivity, introducing  modern technologies, and advancing digital farming. During the  meeting, participants discussed the expansion of processing capacity,   development of smart farms, drip irrigation systems, satellite land  monitoring, and other  industry-related issues.

It should be noted that, according to the RA Statistics Committee,  Armenia's gross agricultural output decreased by 10.2% in the first  half of 2026, amounting to 345.1 billion drams.

Recall, since the end of May of this year, authorized Russian  authorities have been imposing restrictions on the import of products  from Armenia as a result of violations uncovered during inspections.  Initially, the restrictions affected flowers, then fresh agricultural  produce, fish, and fish products. Dairy products were also mentioned  days earlier. Traditionally, Armenia exported over 80%-90% of these  products to the Russian market.
