ArmInfo. As in the previous year and the year before, not a single kilogram of tomatoes will remain in Armenia's fields. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan assured journalists of this.
Recalling the temporary restrictions imposed by the Armenian government on the import of tomatoes and tomato paste, the minister noted that the state will assist local tomato producers in organizing exports.
"Thanks to such support programs, the dream of many opposition members that tons of tomatoes, apricots, and peaches will remain in the fields and orchards will not become a reality," the minister said.
Overall, according to him, Armenia currently exports fresh agricultural produce to the markets of 25 countries. "At this point, by and large, we as a government have resolved the export issue," Papoyan said.
Responding to the question of why, in this case, the Armenian side continues to call on Russia to lift restrictions on imports of Armenian products, the Minister of Economy said the following: "We don't want the EAEU to fall apart. We're thinking about the EAEU because it's our organization."
