ArmInfo. On July 30, the Chairman of the Water Resources Committee of the RA, Aramazd Galamkaryan, received the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of Armenia, Nariman Muhammad Sharif Al-Mulla.
According to the Committee's press service, the agenda of the meeting, among other issues, included the discussion of a proposal for an investment program aimed at improving the water supply of rural settlements in the Armavir region.
Welcoming the ambassador, the Chairman of the Committee highly appreciated the technological potential of the UAE and their readiness to exchange experience with Armenia, noting that the Armenian side has already presented a proposal for a cooperation program.
The ambassador, in turn, expressed gratitude for the reception and noted that UAE specialists have studied the presented proposal and are interested in cooperation opportunities.
Aramazd Galamkaryan outlined the priorities for the development of Armenia's water supply system, touching on opportunities to reduce water losses, create treatment facilities, improve infrastructure, and implement investment programs. He noted that CJSC "Veolia Djur" serves about 80 percent of Armenia's settlements, and settlements not covered by water supply could become areas for new cooperation and implementation of investment programs.
The Arab side presented their country's experience in water recycling, desalination of salt water, artificial intelligence, and modern irrigation technologies, emphasizing the special importance of using advanced technological solutions in the development of treatment facilities.
The parties agreed to continue professional contacts, intensify information exchange, and mutual visits for the purpose of developing joint programs.
The ambassador invited the Armenian delegation to participate in international events held in the United Arab Emirates dedicated to water resource management.
