ArmInfo.Armenia and Oman have reached an agreement to take practical steps toward increasing the export of Armenian fresh produce to the Omani market, as part of broader trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. The Food Safety Inspection Body (FSIB) of Armenia reported the development following a visit by a delegation from the Omani company KV Group.
During the visit, the delegation held discussions with relevant specialists regarding the regulatory procedures required to export fresh Armenian fruits and vegetables to the Sultanate of Oman.
Grigor Mkrtchyan, Deputy Head of the FSIB, briefed the delegation on the requirements for exporting seasonal produce—specifically peaches, apricots, and tomatoes—via ground transportation. He also shared insights into Armenia's successful experience in supplying agricultural goods to other international markets.
Furthermore, the Omani representatives were introduced to the capabilities of the Republican Center for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Laboratory Services. The center's certification results enable Armenia to export quarantine-regulated plant products that meet the phytosanitary standards of importing countries, including the United Arab Emirates.
Notably, the KV Group delegation also held discussions at the Ministry of Economy one day prior to this meeting.
