ArmInfo. A meeting chaired by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the possibility of introducing a mechanism for donating to public organizations, media outlets, and political parties through the universal income declaration system.
According to the government press service, the proposal seeks to integrate a new system of social deductions or directed expenditures into the upcoming personal income declaration framework, specifically benefiting NGOs, the media, and political parties.
The implementation of this mechanism is expected to create additional incentives for citizens to file income declarations. Furthermore, it is designed to bolster the financial independence of NGOs and media entities while enhancing their accountability and transparency.
During the discussion, the participants underscored the importance of this system for the development of political institutions. In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Pashinyan stated that the primary objective is to empower citizens to support their preferred public, media, or political organizations while ensuring the transparency of such funding.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister directed the relevant authorities to refine the draft project based on the feedback provided and submit a finalized version for review.
