Armenia, Turkey discuss efforts to restore transport links between  two countries

ArmInfo.  The transport ministers of Armenia and Turkey held a meeting. This was announced by  Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu on  the social media platform X.

He noted that during the meeting with Armenian Minister of  Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan, they  discussed efforts to restore transport links between the two  countries, including the restoration of previously active railways  and roads.

The meeting also discussed the restoration of the Ani Bridge.

Armenia and Turkey have officially agreed to jointly restore the  historic Ani Bridge (Silk Road Bridge) across the Akhuryan River on  the border between the two countries. [On May 4, 2026, in Yerevan,  special representatives of the two sides signed a Memorandum on the  implementation of these works.] The historic bridge connected the  medieval Armenian capital of Ani with what is now Turkey. Its  restoration is seen as an important step toward strengthening ties  and developing tourism.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the EU-organized  "Transport Accessibility Agenda" conference in Brussels.
