Armenian-Bulgarian Economic Ties Discussed

ArmInfo. Representatives of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Management Development met at the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia.

During the meeting, Gabriela Dimitrova, Director of International Relations and International Organizations at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, discussed the main goals of the delegation's visit to Armenia, including promoting the strengthening of the once-close Armenian-Bulgarian economic ties and unlocking existing potential and promising areas.

Stanislav Chervenkov, Executive Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Management Development, presented in detail the "Functional and Sustainable Migration and Integration in Bulgaria" project, which aims to attract highly skilled and mid-level specialists in the service and technical services sectors from various regions, including Armenia, to fill the country's labor shortage. The sectors in demand are diverse: manufacturing, construction, tourism, trade, and the hotel industry. Highly qualified specialists with long-term contracts will be granted residency and work permits.

USPA Vice President Nerses Karamanukyan presented the Union's main areas of activity and its connections with similar organizations abroad.

Both sides emphasized the importance of further deepening cooperation, exchanging necessary information, and conducting similar visits and meetings.

It is worth noting that Bulgaria is one of Armenia's key trading partners in the European Union. Trade turnover between the two countries has demonstrated significant growth: by the end of the first quarter of 2026, mutual trade volume reached $112.9 million, a fourfold increase compared to the same period last year. In the first four months, Armenian exports to Bulgaria alone amounted to $146 million.
