ArmInfo. Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Tatevik Sargsyan held a meeting with agricultural producers in the Shirak region.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of state agricultural support programs, issues related to increasing the involvement of regional farms in these programs, and upcoming tasks.
Sargsyan assured that the ministry consistently supports agricultural producers. The Deputy Minister reported that the department is currently implementing approximately two dozen support programs aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of agriculture in the regions.
She then met with community leaders and representatives of the agricultural sector, with whom she discussed next steps, presented details of a new program under development, and answered questions. It should be noted that according to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in the first quarter of 2026, 1.3 thousand tons of livestock and poultry were sold for slaughter in the Shirak region, which is 8.3% more than the figure for the previous year; 15.9 thousand tons of milk were produced with an annual decrease of 2.5%; 20.3 million eggs were produced - with an increase of 16.7% over the year.
