Prime Minister: Armenia needs to implement energy sector reforms

ArmInfo.  Armenia needs to implement reforms in its energy sector, stated RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with executive branch  representatives.

According to Pashinyan, while the idea of creating a Ministry of  Energy was initially proposed, it is now crucial to consider  establishing a new format capable of addressing the sector's  challenges. A single ministry cannot solve these issues alone.  Specifically, it is unlikely that energy reforms can be successfully  implemented without the involvement of the Urban Development  Committee and local government bodies.  The focus is on introducing a  new culture of electricity production and sales.

Within this framework, the Prime Minister highlighted the critical  need to institutionalize multi-level "project management." To achieve  these objectives, the oversight capabilities of the Deputy Prime  Ministers must be expanded, given that the reform process requires  the coordinated involvement of five to six ministries.
