Armenian defense industry companies should focus on niche areas -  Aram Jivanyan

ArmInfo.  Aram Jivanyan, Chairman of Armenia's Military- Industrial Complex (MIC) Committee, announced today that his agency has launched a close collaboration with the General Staff of the Armed Forces to systematically  inventory the military's most urgent  needs.  Jivanyan shared the  update during a panel discussion at the RISE exhibition and forum.

He noted that these identified needs will be translated into specific  areas for domestic manufacturers  to target. "We must clearly define  our priority development areas. This is a complex and time-consuming  work that requires close cooperation with the General Staff,"  Jivanyan emphasized. Discussing the global competitiveness of  Armenia's military-industrial complex, the Committee Chairman noted  that the industry is currently navigating a period of "creative  destruction" (a macroeconomic process where innovation and new  technologies displace outdated systems to build more efficient  frameworks-ed). Given this dynamic, Jivanyan believes Armenia should  double down on highly specialized niches rather than spreading its  resources thin, ultimately aiming to deliver world-class solutions in  select technical segments.

The Committee Chairman expressed strong confidence that within the  next five years, Armenian defense exports will grow steadily to  become a core pillar of domestic business development. Furthermore,  he noted that the expansion of this ecosystem will increasingly  position the Armenian market as an attractive destination for major  international defense industry players.
