ArmInfo. Armenia and the United States will work on creating a new geological map of the Republic of Armenia. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this to journalists on May 28 during a briefing.
He noted that, according to the framework memorandum signed between the two countries, the United States will explore Armenia's subsoil using modern technologies in accordance with current requirements.
"Over the past 10 years, the mining industry has changed significantly. In the context of AI development, the importance of rare minerals, which were previously of only scientific interest, has increased. Today, they have acquired colossal significance in the economy, production, including technological products, industry, and the field of AI," Pashinyan stated.
He noted that the signed document also addresses the development of geological services, given that today, subsoil resources are explored not only through drilling but also using modern space technologies.
"You see how our relations with the United States are developing, but I want to emphasize: our strategy is that we will never move forward on any issue without an alternative. There will be no issue on which the Republic of Armenia will not have an alternative. And I think today's parade is a clear confirmation of this," Pashinyan stated, recalling that weapons purchased from six countries were on display.
The previous day, during US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's visit to Yerevan, a framework memorandum on cooperation in the extraction, processing, and supply of rare earth metals and critical minerals was signed.
