Armenian authorities planning to declare ENA shares as object of  eminent domain ahead of nationalization

ArmInfo.  Armenian authorities intend to recognize the shares of Electric Networks of  Armenia CJSC (ENA) as an object of priority public interest, as  stated by Romanos Petrosyan, ENA Interim  Manager, on his Facebook  page.

He noted that the previous day, May 25, the deadline set by the  interim measure applied by the RA Administrative Court expired.  During this deadline, based on the proposal of the Armenian  government, the shareholders of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC  were required to alienate 100% of the company's shares in a manner  agreed upon with the government. "Considering the fact that the  alienation of shares did not occur within the established timeframe,  and guided by the provisions of Part 3 of Article 52 of the RA Law  "On Energy" and Article 60 of the RA Constitution, the Armenian  government is initiating the process of recognizing the shares of  Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC as an object of priority public  interest, with their subsequent alienation (nationalization),"  Petrosyan stated.
