Rospotrebnadzor  suspends sale of cognacs and wines from three  Armenian producers

ArmInfo. Rospotrebnadzor has suspended the sale several cognacs and wines imported from Armenia, as reported on the agency's website.

According to the source, Rospotrebnadzor has identified substandard  Armenian wines and cognacs on the Russian market and ordered the  products to be recalled. The restrictions affect products from three  Armenian producers: VEDI-ALCO, the Abovyan Brandy Factory, and the  Shahnazaryan Wine and Cognac House. Specifically, the banned items  include the "Getap Vernashen" semi-sweet red wine and the "Vedi Alco"  dry white wine from the "ARNI Legends" line, both produced by  VEDI-ALCO. The list of non- compliant products also includes  "Armenian 5-Star Cognac" produced by the Abovyan Cognac Factory and  the seven-year-old "Shahnazaryan XO" cognac produced by the  Shahnazaryan Wine and Cognac House.

The agency did not specify the specific requirements that the  products failed to meet. The official statement only notes that the  decision to suspend sales and recall the alcohol from circulation has  been sent to importers and retailers. Rospotrebnadzor stated that the  situation is under its control.

Recall, the day before, Russia restricted the import of flowers and  Jermuk mineral water from Armenia.  Rosselkhoznadzor also reported  issues regarding the import of fruits and vegetables from Armenia.
