Armenian telecom operators boost tax contributions  by 29.3% in Q1  2026

ArmInfo.The "Big Four" telecom operators collectively contributed 9.7 billion AMD to the state budget, marking a robust 29.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Of this amount, 34.7 million drams were paid in  customs duties, 2.3 billion in direct taxes (including corporate income tax), and 4.3 billion in VAT,  according to data from the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia. 

Viva Armenia has taken the lead among telecom operators, falling from  14th to 16th place over the year.  They paid 4.1 billion drams to the  state treasury, including 19.5 million in customs duties, 950.5  million in direct taxes (including profit tax, income tax), and 1.8  billion drams in VAT.

Following closely is UCom, which rose from 47th to 22nd place over  the year, paying 2.8 billion drams in taxes to the budget, including  2.1 million in customs duties, 542.9 million in direct taxes  (including profit tax, income tax), and 1.5 billion drams in VAT.

Telecom Armenia (TEAM trademark) ranked 31st (compared to 24th the  previous year), paying 2.2 billion drams to the state treasury,  including 7.8 million drams in customs duties, 559 million drams in  direct taxes (including profit tax and income tax), and 761 million  drams in VAT.

GNC Alfa (OVIO trademark) ranked 151st  (compared to 306th the  previous year), paying 555.1 million drams in taxes to the state  budget, including 5.2 million drams in customs duties, 227.5 million  drams in direct taxes (including profit tax and income tax), and  273.1 million drams in VAT.

It should be noted that in Q1 2025, the four largest telecom  operators paid 7.5 billion drams to the state budget, a 6.3% decrease  compared to the same period last year. Of this amount, 94.7 million  drams were paid in customs duties, 1.9 billion in direct taxes  (including profit tax, income tax), and 3.9 billion in VAT.
