ArmInfo. The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has granted tariff exemptions in the form of exemption from import customs duties for certain types of vegetables intended for retail sale.
Specifically, this applies to the supply of potatoes in quantities of no more than 100,000 tons to Kazakhstan and no more than 50,000 tons to Kyrgyzstan; the supply of onions in quantities of no more than 5,000 tons to Armenia and 100,000 tons to Kazakhstan; the supply of cauliflower and broccoli in quantities of no more than 600 tons to Belarus and 500 tons to Kyrgyzstan; supplies of white cabbage in the amount of no more than 35,000 tons to Kazakhstan; supplies of carrots in the amount of no more than 30,000 tons to Kazakhstan; supplies of cucumbers in the amount of no more than 400 tons to Kyrgyzstan; supplies of eggplants in the amount of no more than 200 tons to Belarus, no more than 200 tons to Kyrgyzstan, and no more than 6.6 thousand tons to Russia; supplies of sweet peppers in the amount of no more than 5.2 thousand tons to Belarus, no more than 2,000 tons to Kyrgyzstan, and no more than 27,000 tons to Russia. The exemption is valid until June 30, 2026. A tariff exemption has also been granted for the import of up to 5,000 tons of tomatoes to Kyrgyzstan until May 31, 2026.
"Traditionally, the off-season period in the vegetable market sees significant fluctuations in consumer prices, primarily due to the depletion of domestically produced goods. This measure will ensure additional supply in the domestic market and increase the availability of vegetables for the population," Andrey Slepnev, Minister of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, noted.
The decision will come into effect 10 calendar days after its official publication.
