ArmInfo. Important economic events and forums are planned in Russia, such as the St. Petersburg Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum, to which representatives of the Armenian side are also invited. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin in an interview with 24News, discussing upcoming events and visits.
Regarding the events scheduled for May 9, the ambassador noted that corresponding celebrations are planned in Moscow, to which leaders of countries close to Russia are invited. According to Kopyrkin, the Russian side has an extensive agenda.
Speaking about the events planned with the Armenian side, the ambassador mentioned the possibility of holding Armenian Cultural Days in Russia and Russian Spiritual Culture Days in Armenia. He acknowledged that these events have been postponed several times, but they remain on the bilateral agenda. "We have quite active interregional dialogue and interaction. Delegations from Russian regions continue to visit Armenia, and representatives from Armenian regions visit Russia. We are also planning cultural and humanitarian events in Armenia. All of this is in the development stage. As usual, major economic events and forums are planned in Russia. In particular, the St. Petersburg and Eastern Economic Forums, to which, naturally, representatives of the Armenian side will be invited," the ambassador said.
According to the diplomat, the agenda also includes holding the next meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation, the dates and schedule of which will be agreed upon taking into account the domestic political calendars of Armenia and Russia. Kopyrkin added that Russia will also hold State Duma elections this fall. "Contacts exist, events are planned, and the agenda is quite busy. We hold an annual meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. The previous meeting took place in December of last year. Consultations between the Foreign Ministries are also planned as part of the consultation plan signed last year, so there's plenty of work to do," the ambassador concluded.
