
ArmInfo. The 5th meeting of the Armenia-EU Subcommittee on Economic Cooperation and Other Related Areas was held yesterday at the Ministry of Finance of Armenia.
The meeting was chaired by Edgar Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Finance of Armenia, and the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vasilis Maragos, delivered a welcoming speech. Representatives of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Central Bank, the Accounts Chamber, the European Commission, and the EU Delegation to Armenia also participated in the meeting.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance, the latest macroeconomic developments and the current situation in Armenia were presented during the meeting. The Armenian side presented a report on reforms implemented in public financial management, highlighting, in particular, the progress achieved in public debt management, public investment management, and external audit. The parties also discussed the development of the financial sector, improving statistics, and cooperation with EU partners in combating fraud. At the same time, the European Commission presented information on the implementation of the EU Resilience and Growth Plan for Armenia, as well as recent economic developments in the European Union.
