Power generation in January 2026 increased by 18.1% compared to  previous year

ArmInfo.Power generation in Armenia in January 2026 amounted to 1,085.7 million kWh, showing  an increase in  its year-on-year growth from 10.1% to 18.1%, as evidenced by data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Specifically, thermal power plants saw a 77.2% increase in power  generation year-on-year, reaching  577.1 million kWh. Meanwhile, the  Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) decreased its output by 2%  year-on- year to 330 million kWh, and hydroelectric power plants  (HPPs) decreased by 51.3% year-on-year to 86.3 million kWh. Wind  power generation saw a significant increase, growing by 3.7 times and  reaching 0.2 million kWh. Solar energy production also increased by  16% annually, reaching 92.1 million kWh.
