ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan assures that Armenia is transforming from a country on the periphery of the world into a state occupying a central position. He made this announcement on February 12 at a meeting with participants of the "Youth for Armenia's Knowledge-Based Future" event, part of the "Yerevan Sustainable Energy Days."
According to the PM's office, Pashinyan recalled that the government recently adopted the Doctrine of Economic and Institutional Transformation of Armenia, where education was declared as a key strategic focus. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of drawing lessons from history, noting: "In my opinion, all our policies and decisions in recent years, specifically all our decisions made since 2024, and perhaps even earlier, -have been directly linked to the lessons learned from our history." According to Nikol Pashinyan, the key lesson from history is to avoid repeating the mistakes of history, as they tend to recur in cycles.
"So, the cycle I'm talking about is as follows: in a favorable geopolitical environment, sometimes even against our will, we gained statehood. The geopolitical situation was favorable and then it changed, and we, again against our will, lost the state. Now, in my opinion and according to my assessment, what is the situation today?" "The situation today is that we have gone through this cycle," the Prime Minister said, adding that the Republic of Armenia went through this cycle between 2020 and 2025.
"We were caught in this cycle-to lose or not? It had already reached its peak, the moment had arrived when we would reach the culmination of this historical cycle in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. Yet, in 2024, a decision was made. A shift in the historical cycle occurred-at the moment when we were expected to lose our state, we did not. By the way, I would like to mention that there are even specific months, dates, and events; if you are interested, I can share them. As I mentioned, something entirely different is unfolding with the Republic of Armenia now. Through sacrifice, we have reached a point where today, on February 12, 2026, in the days to come, without physically moving anywhere, Armenia will transition from a country on the periphery the world to the center of the world. And this is the most important news that I am delighted to share with you," the Prime Minister stated.
During the meeting, issues of efficient energy management, construction, air pollution, educational development, and other topics in Armenia were discussed. Possibilities of translating the participants' ideas into urban planning solutions were explored. The head of state also answered their questions. The event was organized by the Yerevan Municipality and the Yerevan Investment and Construction Unit in cooperation with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund of Armenia and the Covenant of Mayors - East program.
