ArmInfo. Grain deliveries to Armenia through Azerbaijan via the Russian Railways network have become regular, as stated by Sergei Pavlov, First Deputy Chairman of Russian Railways, at the final board meeting.
"Due to the lifting of cargo transit restrictions on to Armenia via Azerbaijan, the first grain train in many years departed from Russia to Armenia in November 2025. Deliveries have now become regular. We plan to further develop transportation along this route," Pavlov said, according to the Russian Railways Telegram channel. Russian Railways mentioned that the first shipment of 1,050 tons of wheat in 15 grain trucks was sent to Armenia via Azerbaijan and Georgia from the Dimitrovgrad station in the Ulyanovsk region in November 2025, marking the first such shipment since the 1990s. The company also noted that an additional 132 wheat cars were scheduled to be sent along this route by the end of January 2026, with plans for shipments of other types of cargo as well.
