ArmInfo.  On January 26, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of  Armenia, Hakob Arshakyan, received a delegation led by Manoil Manev,  Deputy Chairman of the Bulgaria-Armenia Friendship Group  at the  National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. According to the press  service of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Babken  Tunyan, Head of the Armenia-Bulgaria Friendship Group, and group  members Alkhas Ghazaryan and Esther Ayvazyan, also participated in  the meeting.

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly highly praised the  interstate relations between Armenia and Bulgaria, based on the warm  and fraternal ties between the two friendly nations. He stated that  mutual high- level visits have contributed to the development and  deepening of effective bilateral cooperation, and that the role of  parliamentary diplomacy is of particular importance. Hakob Arshakyan  also expressed satisfaction with the recent meeting of the  intergovernmental commission between the two countries.

The Deputy Speaker emphasized that the Bulgarian side was proposed to  elevate bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership.  Noting that the peace declaration signed in Washington on August 8  between Armenia and Azerbaijan provides for the unblocking of  communication routes, Hakob Arshakyan expressed confidence that   TRIPP  will open up new prospects for trade and economic cooperation  with Bulgaria. In this context, he highly praised the positive  response of his Bulgarian partners to the peace process.
