ArmInfo. In 2025, the target areas of the Market Surveillance Inspection Body's activities were motor gasoline and diesel fuel, toys, low-voltage equipment, products for children and adolescents, and ensuring the uniformity of measurements, as stated by Armen Kotolyan, Head of the Market Surveillance Inspection Body, during a press conference on January 23.
Specifically, in the area of motor gasoline, safety violations were identified in 13.4% of cases: out of 67 samples collected, non-compliance was recorded in 9. For diesel fuel, the violation rate was 63%, with non- compliance detected in 17 of 27 samples. According to Kotolyan, in the toy, low-voltage, and children's and adolescent products sectors, the main risks are associated with the sale of goods without mandatory labeling and conformity assessment documents.
In the toy sector, samples of 21 products were collected from 14 economic entities, safety violations found in 4 cases (19%). Following the examination, approximately 400 toys were destroyed in the Inspectorate's laboratory. "In 2025, the practice of destroying products that do not meet safety requirements based on laboratory testing was first introduced in Armenia. We intend to continue this practice," the head of the Inspectorate noted.
As for the children's and adolescent products sector, 131 checklists were used in 2025, with violations detected in 81.7% of cases. In the low-voltage product sector, 94 checklists were used, with the percentage of detected violations amounting to 78.7%. Regarding compliance checks for metrology rules and regulations, 60.6% of the 309 business entities inspected were found to be in violation. "Our goal is not to fine businesses, but to inform them and prevent potential violations," Kotolyan emphasized.
