Cargo transportation in Armenia increased by 2% in January-October,  while passenger transportation decreased by 2.3%

ArmInfo.In Armenia, cargo transportation volume in January-October 2025 amounted to 13,960.5 thousand tons, an increase of 2% year-on-year, according to  data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Road transport accounted for the majority of cargo transportation  (79.2%), at 11,051.8 thousand tons, with an annual increase of 0.7%.  Rail freight transportation also experienced significantly growth of  18.8% to 1,408.3 thousand tons. Air cargo transportation also  increased by 3.7% to 33,700 tons. 1,466,700 tons of natural gas were  delivered through the main pipeline, showing a decrease of 1.6% from  the previous year.

Passenger transportation in January-October decreased by 2.3% to  195,565,600 people. Specifically, automobile passenger transportation  decreased by 0.1% to 165,942,400 people, rail passenger  transportation by 9.8% to 436,000 people, and electric passenger  transportation by 16.2% to 24,304,500 people. However, air passenger  transportation increased by 5.7% to 4,882,700 people. As a result,  freight turnover decreased by 2.5% year-on-year in January-October to  3,623 million ton-km, while passenger traffic increased by 0.2%  year-on-year to 3,862.6 million passenger-km.
