World Wine Tourism Organization interested in cooperation with  Armenia 

ArmInfo.  The World Wine Tourism Organization (GWTO) is interested in cooperation with Armenia. This was stated by GWTO President Antonio Vidal during a  meeting with the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports  of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan.

The parties discussed the process of restoration of the grape press  in the Zvartnots Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum. In this  regard, the Minister emphasized that the government attaches great  importance to the development of winemaking. In addition to the fact  that the industry is a valuable national cultural heritage,  Andreasyan said that this is a developing area in the professional  and higher education systems and is in great demand among students.  In the context of the development of the industry, the Minister  especially noted the importance of cooperation with the National  Agrarian University of Armenia and the possibility of implementing  joint educational programs. It should be noted that according to the  RA Statistical Committee, wine production in Armenia decreased by  36.3%, amounting to 2.8 million liters.

According to the Customs Service, in 2024, Armenia reduced wine  exports by 4.1% to 4.3 million liters.  The customs value of exported  wine decreased by 3.1% - to $ 17.7 million.

The main market for Armenian wine is traditionally Russia, the share  of which decreased in 2024 from 83.2% to 79.6%. Then, far behind,  come the United States (7%), Poland (1.4%), France (1.2%), China  (1%), Lithuania and Belgium (0.8% each), Germany (0.7%). Much smaller  volumes were supplied to Georgia, Kazakhstan, Canada, Latvia,  Britain, the Netherlands, Israel, Italy, Greece, Germany, Australia,  the UAE, Bulgaria, Belgium, Turkmenistan, Switzerland, Ukraine, the  Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, Uruguay, Singapore. Less than 1 thousand  liters. was exported to Lebanon, India, Austria, Estonia, Iceland,  Spain, Japan, Sweden, Portugal, Vietnam, Kenya.
