Pashinyan thanks his partners for uninterrupted supply of energy  sources to Armenia

ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, speaking about the country's energy supply, thanked his  partners (Russia and Iran, ed. note) for uninterrupted energy supplies. In this context, he said that Armenia has extended the contract with Iran under the gas-for-electricity agreement until 2030.

Answering a question from MPs about the possibilities of diversifying  energy generation sources in the country, Pashinyan noted that the  country has enormous potential in the field of solar energy, and this  potential is growing significantly with the development of  technologies, including accumulation. Now, according to him, work is  underway to assess wind power generation.

As Pashinyan noted, not only the establishment of new generation  systems is important, but also the more efficient use of energy  saving technologies, in the area of which government subsidy programs  are involved. These technologies are actively used in the state  construction of kindergartens and other social facilities.

Pashinyan pointed out with some caution and reservation that the day  when Armenia will become an energy self-sufficient country is not far  away. But, as experts note, it is very strange that the head of  government did not say a word about the development of nuclear energy  in the country and plans to build a new nuclear power plant.
