Armenia increased metallurgical production by 28% per annum

ArmInfo. The metallurgical  industry of Armenia increased in January-April 2020. production  volumes by 28%, against the 13.1% decline a year earlier. This is  evidenced by the data of the Statcommittee of the Republic of  Armenia.

In particular, ferromolybdenum production in Armenia increased by  15.5% per annum to 2,754.6 tons during the reporting period, against  a decline of 5.8% a year earlier. In April alone, ferromolybdenum was  produced 669.6 tons, which is 13.6% less than the March volume.

In the first four months, the production of molybdenum concentrate  increased by 63.9% per annum - up to 6963 tons, against growth by 15%  a year earlier. In April alone, the production of molybdenum  concentrate increased by 17.5% to 2179 tons.

The production of copper concentrate increased by 28.6% to 121.7  thousand tons, against the decline of 14.7% a year earlier. On a  monthly basis (April to March), copper concentrate production  increased by 11.8% to 31.8 thousand tons. The production of zinc  concentrate increased during the reporting period by 31.7% per annum  - up to 4653 tons, against 12% - gospada a year earlier. In April,  zinc concentrate production increased by 8.8% to 1,383 tons.

The production of aluminum foil for the reporting period in annual  terms increased by 12.5%, amounting to a total of 11,686 tons, while  a year earlier over the same period, production volumes showed a  decline of 4.1%. At the same time, in April, the output of aluminum  foil decreased by 6.8% to 2,800 tons.

Steel pipe production in the reporting period 2020 increased by 31.5%  per annum - up to 3,423 tons (against a decline of 24% a year  earlier), and only in April there was an increase of 11.3% - up to  880 tons.  Castings of alloyed (carbon) steel were produced during  the reporting period in the amount of 6,095 tons, with an annual  increase of 20%, while in April production volumes increased  significantly, amounting to 2,447.5 tons.

All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the  USA.

Recall that the metallurgical industry of Armenia in 2019 slowed down  the decline in production volumes to 4.7% from 7.2% in 2018 (against  an increase of 11.3% in 2017). In particular, ferromolybdenum  production increased by 5.5%, molybdenum concentrate - by 28.9%,  copper concentrate - by 26%, aluminum foil - by 7.7%, steel pipes -  by 7.6%. Zinc concentrate production increased 3.8%. At the same  time, the production of alloyed (carbon) steel castings decreased in  2019 by 15.2%.
