ArmInfo. 4.9% decline in Armenia's GDP in March this year can be considered a good indicator, given the impact that coronavirus had on the economy of the country  and around the world. On May 14, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan  stated this from the rostrum of the National Assembly of the Republic  of Armenia.

MP from the Prosperous Armenia  Partry (PAP), economist Mikayel Melkumyan, stated this during  briefings. The MP noted that it will be extremely difficult to  restore this difference. Melkumyan did not explain, meanwhile, where  did he get such an assessment.

In the first quarter of  2020, the Armenian trade sector slowed down y-o-y growth from 10.1%  (for the same period of 2019) to 0.2% this year, amounting to 657.5  billion AMD ($ 1.4 billion). The dynamics was due to the wholesale  turn from growth to decline and a slowdown in retail trade. This is  evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.

ArmInfo."HSBC Bank Armenia" CJSC (HSBC Armenia) will donate 150 sets of computer workstations to students in socially vulnerable communities in Armenia to support their remote learning needs amidst COVID-19 and beyond. The workstations will be given to HSBC Armenia's charity partner Jinishian Memorial Foundation, which will help identify and select the final beneficiaries and distribute the workstations to them.
