Armenian textile industry demonstrates high growth rates

ArmInfo. In H1 2021, Armenia's textile industry has grown 3- fold compared to the same period in 2020, (against a 32.2% decline in the previous year), amounting to  844.8 million drams. This is evidenced by the data of the RA  Statistical Committee. During the month alone, production volumes  decreased by 1.9% to 155.9 million drams.  The growth in the textile  industry was provoked by a 5-fold increase (against a 1.8-fold growth  a year earlier) fabrics produced by Armenian factories - up to 14.5  tons. A significant  y-o-y growth was recorded in the production of  bedding sets - 5.1 times to 92.6 thousand pieces. (instead of 2.3  times growth over the same period in 2020)

ArmInfo.In Armenia, the specific debt burden per capita by July 1, 2021 had already reached $ 3 thousand from $ 2.6 thousand a year earlier. Moreover, the per capita  debt burden from external debt increased from $ 2 thousand to $ 2.3  thousand. At the same time, the population of Armenia has increased  over the year by only 1.6 thousand people - p to 2.965 million people  by July 1, 2021.

ArmInfo. The industrial sector of Armenia in H1 2021 increased production volumes by 2.1% (against 1.5% growth a year earlier), exceeding 1 trillion drams (about $ 2  billion). According to the data of the Statistical Committee of the  Republic of Armenia, in June alone, the industry showed a decline of  0.9% to 195.8 billion drams ($ 381.6 million).

Central Bank forecast: In 2021-2023, average y-o-y inflation in  Armenia will decrease from 6.8% to 4.6%

ArmInfo.Average y-o-y official inflation will increase to 6.8% in 2021 from 1.2% in 2020, but in the next two years this figure will decrease to 4.6% in 2023. Real  inflation will also increase - to 7.4% in 2021 from 1.3% in 2020, in  the next two years it will decline and in 2023 will drop to 4.5%.  These are the new forecasted figures of the Central Bank of Armenia.
