During the May holidays, there was some tourist revival in Armenia, especially from the citizens of the Russian Federation, but it is still too early to  talk about a complete recovery of the industry. On May 11, during a  press conference, Gayane Ayvazyan, an expert on public relations and  digital marketing of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy  of Armenia, expressed a similar opinion.

Number of cards on Armenia`s plastic market exceeded 2.5 million, but  the growth shrinks to nullity

ArmInfo. By April 1, 2021, there were over 2.5 million cards in the plastic market of Armenia, with a slowdown in y-o-y growth to 3.5% from 20.8% in the same period of  2020. And most of them are debit and payment cards - 50.5% and 40.2%,  respectively, and credit accounts for only 9.3%, but annual growth is  observed in debit cards (by 13%), while settlement and credit in  decline (by 4.7-4%). This is evidenced by the data of the RA Central  Bank.

ArmInfo.Armenia's foreign trade turnover in the first quarter of 2021 amounted to $ 1.5 billion, accelerating the decline to 4.4% (from 4% a year earlier). According  to the final data of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of  Armenia, this was provoked by the acceleration of the decline in  imports from 6.2% to 8.7%, while the export growth accelerated from  0.2% to 3.4%, the volumes of which amounted to $ 936.4 million and $  572.9 million, respectively.

ArmInfo.In Armenia, in the first quarter of 2021, 8,583 children were born, which is 13.3% higher than a year ago, and by 7.9% compared to the same period in 2019.   According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia,  the birth rate per 1000 inhabitants for the reporting period amounted  to 11.7 ppm, against 10.3 ppm a year earlier and 10.9 ppm two years  ago.
