ArmInfo. If the West imposes sanctions on the Russian Federation, the Armenian economy will suffer to a greater or lesser extent, depending on the nature of these  sanctions. Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia  Martin Galstyan expressed this opinion on February 1 during a press  conference.

On February 1 this year, 500 thousand shares of ACBA Bank in the amount of 7.5 billion drams have been listed on the Armenia Securities Exchange  (AMX), and from this day, individuals and legal entities, both residents and non-residents,  have the opportunity to purchase these shares. This is noted in the  message of the Bank, which states that the market maker of these  shares will be the Dimension company chosen by ACBA Bank.

ArmInfo.Since February 1, the tariff for electricity has increased in Armenia. At the same time, from January 1, the water tariff increased by 20.47 drams, and from  April 1, the gas tariff is expected to increase, and inflation in  January-December 2021 amounted to 7.2%.  Meanwhile, the Armenian  government refused to raise the minimum wage and index pensions,  referring to the lack of appropriate resources at this stage.

ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia raised the refinancing rate by 0.25 percentage points, setting it at 8%. As the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia  told ArmInfo, this decision was made on February 2 at a meeting of  the Board of the Central Bank of Armenia.

ArmInfo. On January 30, on the sidelines of the Expo 2020 Dubai National Day of Armenia, the Investment Support Center, RA Ministry of Economy, and the UAE  Federation of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) signed a  memorandum of intent. 

ArmInfo. Armenia's economic activity increased in January- December 2021 by 5.8% per annum, against a 7.5% decline in 2020 and a 7.8% growth in 2019. The growth  movement was restored by the service sector, the trade sector, the  construction sector and the industrial sector, while the energy  complex and the agricultural sector went into decline. This is  evidenced by the preliminary data of the RA Statistical Committee.
