ArmInfo. The World Bank (WB) forecasts a slowdown in Armenia's GDP growth in 2023 to 4.3% (from an estimated 7% growth in 2022), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) - to 4-5% (from an estimated 11% growth in 2022).

During the regular Board meeting of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA), Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board of ARARATBANK OJSC Mher Ananyan was elected as new Chairman of the UBA Board. He will replace Gevorg Machanyan, Executive Director and Chairman of the Management Board of ARMSWISSBANK CJSC, who chaired the Union in 2021-2022.

ArmInfo.The Armenian authorities and IMF staff reached a staff- level agreement on a 3-year precautionary Stand-By Arrangement (SBA). The agreement is subject to approval by the IMF Executive Board and is expected to be considered in December 2022, the IMF reports.

ArmInfo. Armenia's government will grant tax benefits to the Multi Tobacco company owned by Gagik Tsarukyan, Chairman of the Prosperous Armenia party. The company will be exempted from duties on the import of manufacturing equipment and spare parts, raw materials under an investment programme in a priority field.
