Armenia exported over 3 million liters of wine in 2021, significantly  diversifying sales markets

ArmInfo. In 2021, Armenia increased wine exports by 17.7% to more than 3 million liters, against a decrease of 5.9% in 2020. According to the data of the RA  Customs Service, the value of exported wine increased by 27.8% - up  to $10.9 million.

Armenia`s grain imports down in 2021

ArmInfo. Last year, Armenia's wheat imports totaled 271.3 thousand tons - a 23.4% decrease. The customs value reached $62.4mln - a 13.8% decrease. Russia is the  major exporter of wheat to Armenia (99.4%), with the rest imported  from Georgia.

Armenia reduced exports of copper ore concentrate, zinc and  molybdenum in 2021

ArmInfo. In 2021, Armenia reduced the volume of exports of copper ore by 15.7% - to 429.5 thousand tons (against a decline in 2020 by 9.3%). However, in value  terms, the export of copper ore increased by 27.3%, amounting to  $769.2 million. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Customs  Service.

Armenia increased sugar imports by 1.2% in 2021, while exports grew  by 77.3%

ArmInfo.In 2021, Armenia increased sugar imports by 1.2% to 74.7 thousand tons (against an increase of 32.5% in 2020). As noted in the report of the Customs  Service of the Republic of Armenia, in value terms, sugar imports  increased by 55.4% - up to $42.8 million.

Armenia increased imports of natural and liquefied gas in 2021

ArmInfo.In 2021, Armenia increased natural gas imports by 7.6% to 2,787,097.1 cubic meters. The customs value of imported natural gas increased in the same way  (by 7.6%), amounting to $459.8 million.

Armenia maintains  upward trend in polished diamonds exports for  second year in  row

ArmInfo. In 2021, Armenia increased the export of polished diamonds by 32.2% (against 87.5% growth in 2020) - up to 573.4 thousand carats. And the customs value  increased by 45.4%, amounting to $103.6 million (against 24.7% growth  in 2020). This is evidenced by the data of the RA Customs Service.

Armenia significantly increased gold imports in 2021, while reducing  its exports by 33.4%

ArmInfo. In 2021, Armenia exported 3,776.3 kg gold (including electroplating), which is 33.4% lower than a year ago. At the same time, the customs value decreased  by 47.7% to $133.8 million. This is evidenced by the data of the RA  Customs Service.

CBA did not instruct Armenian banks to refuse to open accounts for  Russian citizens

ArmInfo.The Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia did not instruct Armenian banks to refuse to open accounts for Russian citizens. This is stated in the CBA's response to  ArmInfo's request in connection with some concerns that some Armenian  banks refuse to open accounts for Russian citizens, referring to some  instruction from the Regulator.
