Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan once again expressed his disagreement with the Central Bank of Armenia, referring to the latest forecasts of the  Regulator for economic growth (on14, it was announced 4.9% for 2022,  ed. note). ArmInfo. This January-May, Armenia's national debt increased by nearly $355mln and reached $9,580.5mln. By 2025, Armenia will have to spend up to $1.4bln to  cover and serve the government debt accumulated by May 31, 2022, (the  debt of the Central Bank of Armenia [CBA] not included). In 2029,  this amount is expected to reach $3.1bln and in 2031, nearly $1.5bln.

Central Bank clarifies situation with dram revaluation

ArmInfo.The impressive inflow of foreign currency into the Armenian market, which exceeded last year's level by several times, became one of the reasons for the  revaluation of the dram. Armen Nurbekyan, Head of Macroeconomic  Directorate at Central Bank of Armenia, stated this during a press  conference on June 14.

In Armenia, a significant increase in exports and financial inflows also contribute to the revaluation of the dram in the foreign exchange market, and  the latter, according to the Central Bank, will have a positive  impact on the weakening of the domestic inflationary environment in  the near future.
