ArmInfo.  Without advanced mining and metallurgy industries, it is impossible to imagine Armenia's technological development today, from artificial  intelligence (AI) to military-industrial production. Vardan Janyan,  Vice President of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC)  and Head of the Union of Miners and Metallurgists of Armenia, made  this statement  during a press briefing today at the opening of the  RISE exhibition and forum.

Tomas Kairys appointed as new head of EBRD Caucasus region, effective  September 2026

According to an official statement issued by the EBRD, his appointment will take effect on September 1, 2026.  Based in Tbilisi, Georgia, Kairys will oversee all EBRD operations across the Caucasus region. This leadership appointment follows a long and distinguished career within the Bank.

Rising food and service prices keep Armenian inflation above target  range

ArmInfo. The annual inflation rate in Armenia eased slightly to 4.2% in May 2026, down from 4.3% during the same period last year, according to data released by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia. This modest deceleration was driven by slower year-on- year price growth in food  (6.5% vs. 7.2% last year) and services (2.7% vs. 3.1% last year).  Conversely, non-food prices rose by 2.1%, reversing a 0.1% decline  recorded the previous year.
