ArmInfo.  Without advanced mining and metallurgy industries, it is impossible to imagine Armenia's technological development today, from artificial  intelligence (AI) to military-industrial production. Vardan Janyan,  Vice President of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC)  and Head of the Union of Miners and Metallurgists of Armenia, made  this statement  during a press briefing today at the opening of the  RISE exhibition and forum.

ArmInfo.  Tomas Kairys has been appointed as the new Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and  Development (EBRD) Office for the Caucasus. According to an official statement issued by the EBRD, his appointment will take effect on September 1, 2026.  Based in Tbilisi, Georgia, Kairys will oversee all EBRD operations across the Caucasus region. This leadership appointment follows a long and distinguished career within the Bank.

ArmInfo. The annual inflation rate in Armenia eased slightly to 4.2% in May 2026, down from 4.3% during the same period last year, according to data released by the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia. This modest deceleration was driven by slower year-on- year price growth in food  (6.5% vs. 7.2% last year) and services (2.7% vs. 3.1% last year).  Conversely, non-food prices rose by 2.1%, reversing a 0.1% decline  recorded the previous year.

The agreement marks an important step toward deeper cooperation between the two exchanges and further integration of regional capital markets through the Tabadul Hub initiative launched by ADX, creating new opportunities for cross-border collaboration and market connectivity.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian Stock Exchange and the Central Depository awarded the most active participants of the capital market at the AMX AWARDS 2026. This is one of the most significant events in Armenia's financial sector,  held annually.

ArmInfo. The Church is a taxpayer and pays taxes, as stated by Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II  in an interview with editors of several Armenian media outlets.  According to him, a special commission had previously been  established to determine which specific ecclesiastical properties  should be subject to property tax. "However, this process was  suspended.

ArmInfo.  A roundtable discussion on Armenian-Belarusian trade, economic, and financial cooperation was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Armenia. According to the Embassy, the event was attended by representatives of Armenian businesses as part of a business visit by a Belarusian delegation led by Irina Potapova, Chairperson of the Management Board of Belgazprombank.

ArmInfo.  Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), has assured that he can resolve the crisis surrounding Armenian cargo trucks, whose entry has been restricted following Russia's import bans on Armenian goods, within a single day. He made this statement during a campaign rally  in Armenia's Ararat Province.

ArmInfo.  A business mission featuring companies from Russia's Omsk and Voronezh regions has launched in Yerevan. The event was organized by regional Export Support Centers with the assistance of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo.  The first major shipment of next-generation NVIDIA Blackwell graphics processing units (GPUs) has arrived in Armenia for the Firebird AI Data Center currently under construction in Hrazdan, as stated by the press  service of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.

ArmInfo.  Rosselkhoznadzor will impose temporary restrictions on the import of pome fruits, eggplants, potatoes, and dried fruits originating and shipped from Armenia, as well as on the transit of these products to EAEU member  states, effective June 3, 2026, due to the lack of mechanisms for  confirming the arrival of quarantine products by these countries.

ArmInfo.  Georgia does not rule out Armenia's participation in the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway project and is ready to deepen transit cooperation with Yerevan, as stated by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze  following the opening ceremony of the new BTK railway line.
